Garides (Prawns) saganaki
- 400 grams fresh,peeled,uncooked king prawns
- 1 large onion, peeled and cubed
- 3 clove garlic, peeled and finely sliced
- 1 cup pomodoro tomatos (cubed from can)
- 2 tsp tomato paste
- 1/2 cup Chardonnay (white wine)
- 1/2 tsp crushed chillies
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 250 grams greek goat feta cheese
- Heat the olive oil in a pan.
- Saute the onions, then add the garlic, tomatos, tomato paste, all the spices snd the white wine.
- Let all ingredients simmer for 15 minutes until a nice, thick sauce is formed.
- Add the prawns and cook for another 3 minutes.
- After you remove the pan from heat and while the contents are hot, crumble the feta cheese in and stir well.
- Serve immediately with saffroned basmati!
