Mel's Grilled Flank Steak

  1. Trim excess fat from steak; score steak on both sides in 1 1/2 inch squares.
  2. Place steak in large plastic bag, and then in a shallow dish.
  3. Combine oil and remaining ingredients, stirring well.
  4. Pour over steak.
  5. Cover and seal.
  6. Marinate in refrigerator at least 8 hours.
  7. Drain steak, reserving marindade.
  8. Grill, covered, over medium coals (300-400 degrees) for 6-8 minutes on each side, or to desired doneness, basting twice with marinade.
  9. Discard remaining marinade.
  10. To serve, slice steak across the grain into thin slices.
