Eggless, Butterless, Milkless Cake Recipe
- 3/4 c. raisins
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 1/4 c. all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 3/4 teaspoon grnd allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon grnd cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon grnd cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 c. minced walnuts
- Cider Sauce
- Combine raisins and 1 1/2 c. warm water; let stand 15-20 min.
- Using electric mixer, thoroughly cream together brown sugar and shortening, about 5 min.
- Stir together flour, baking pwdr, allspice, salt, cloves, cinnamon, and baking soda.
- Add in dry ingredients to creamed mix alternately with raisin mix, beating after each addition.
- Mix in nuts.
- Pour mix into greased and floured 9 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees till done, 40-45 min.
- Serve with hot Cider Sauce.
