Eggless, Butterless, Milkless Cake Recipe

  1. Combine raisins and 1 1/2 c. warm water; let stand 15-20 min.
  2. Using electric mixer, thoroughly cream together brown sugar and shortening, about 5 min.
  3. Stir together flour, baking pwdr, allspice, salt, cloves, cinnamon, and baking soda.
  4. Add in dry ingredients to creamed mix alternately with raisin mix, beating after each addition.
  5. Mix in nuts.
  6. Pour mix into greased and floured 9 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees till done, 40-45 min.
  8. Serve with hot Cider Sauce.
