Simply Apples Apple Pie
- 1 double crust pie crust
- 10 medium apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 14 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 tablespoons butter
- Peel, core and thinly slice the apples.
- (As I said above, I used granny smith apples but you may want to try something sweeter.)
- Place the apples in a large bowl and sprinkle them with the cinnamon, flour and vanilla.
- Stir the apples to make sure they are well coated.
- Line a pie dish with crust.
- Pour in the apples.
- Feel free to stack them high - it makes a beautiful pie that way!
- Top the apples with butter and then the second layer of crust.
- Press the edges of the crust together and cut slits in the top of the pie.
- If desired, you can sprinkle the top with added cinnamon.
- Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes or until apples are tender.
- It may not bubble as it will not be as wet as a traditional apple pie but the apples should become soft and the top crust should be golden brown.
- Enjoy!
