Beef Casserole With Edam Recipe

  1. In a large skillet, saute/fry onion in margarine till golden brown.
  2. Add in steak, tomatoes, and peppers.
  3. Cook, stirring, till veggies are softened.
  4. Add in egg, raisins, olives, gherkins, and mushrooms.
  5. Cook, stirring for 1 min.
  6. Stir in flour and cook for 2minutes, stirring constantly.
  7. Stir in broth, chili paste, chili sauce, ketchup, Tobasco, and salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Simmer, stirring constantly for 5 min.
  9. Line the sides of a medium pot with some of the cheese slices.
  10. Pour the beef mix into the pot and cover it with remaining cheese slices.
  11. Put a pie pan upside down in a pre-heated Dutch oven.
  12. Place the pot on the pie pan.
  13. Cover the pot and the Dutch oven.
  14. Bake at 325 for 15 min.
  15. Serve.
