Grandma Joeyann's French Toast Sandwiches

  1. Heat griddle to medium-high heat.
  2. Melt 1 tsp.
  3. butter on griddle.
  4. Beat eggs, milk and vanilla in small bowl until blended.
  5. Dip 6 bread slices into egg mixture, coating 1 side of bread only.
  6. Place on griddle, egg side down.
  7. Top each bread slice with 1 cheese slice and 1 ham slice.
  8. Dip remaining bread slices in egg mixture, coating 1 side of bread only.
  9. Place on top of ham slices, egg side up.
  10. Cook until browned.
  11. Carefully turn over, adding more butter as needed.
  12. Cook to brown second side.
  13. Remove from griddle; top with jam.
  14. Sprinkle with powdered sugar just before serving.
