Classic Lasagna

  1. Heat oven to 350F.
  2. Brown meat in large skillet on medium-high heat.
  3. Add onions and garlic; cook and stir 5 to 7 min.
  4. or until crisp-tender.
  5. Stir in tomato puree and basil; bring just to boil.
  6. Simmer on medium-low heat 10 min., stirring occasionally.
  7. Stir in water.
  8. Mix ricotta, Parmesan and egg until well blended.
  9. Reserve 1/2 cup mozzarella.
  10. Spread 1 cup meat sauce onto bottom of 13x9-inch baking dish; top with layers of 2 noodles and 1/3 each of the ricotta mixture, remaining meat sauce and mozzarella.
  11. Repeat layers twice.
  12. Top with remaining noodles and meat sauce; cover.
  13. Bake 35 min.
  14. Top with reserved mozzarella; bake, uncovered, 10 min.
  15. or until melted.
  16. Let stand 10 min.
  17. before cutting to serve.
