Spritz Cookies
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Cream butter and shortening until soft
- Add sugar gradually and continue to cream for approx 5 minutes until light and fluffy
- Add egg and vanilla; beat well
- Mix flour, baking powder and salt together, slowly add to mixture; mix well after each addition, dough will be stiff
- Shape dough into 2 rolls, wrap in wax paper and refrigerate for 1 hour
- Fill gun and make cookies, decorate as desired
- Bake at 375 for approx 7-8 minutes or until just starting to turn light golden around the edges.
- Do not overbake
