Perfect Beef Stroganoff Recipe
- 1 1/2 pound sirloin steak
- 1 c. minced onion
- 1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced thin
- 1 tbsp. catsup
- 1/8 teaspoon green pepper
- 1/2 c. dry white wine
- 1 tbsp. dry parsley
- 1 1/2 c. lowfat sour cream
- 1 1/2 c. egg noodles
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp. flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 c. beef bouillon
- 1 teaspoon fresh dill or possibly 1/4 teaspoon dill seed
- Cut beef into 1/4 inch slices and cut again across grain into 1/2 inch wide strips.
- Heat butter.
- Add in beef and sear over high heat.
- Remove as it browns.
- Set aside.
- In remaining warm butter, saute/fry onion, garlic and mushrooms till golden brown.
- Remove from heat.
- Add in flour, catsup, salt and pepper.
- Stir till smooth.
- Gradually add in bouillon, bring to boiling, stirring.
- Reduce heat.
- Simmer 5 min.
- Add in wine, dill and lowfat sour cream.
- Stir.
- Add in beef, simmer just till warm.
- Serve over buttered egg noodles.
