Brown And Serve Rolls

  1. In mixer bowl combine 2 cups flour and yeast.
  2. In saucepan heat milk, sugar, Crisco and salt until warm to melt Crisco.
  3. Add to dry ingredients in mixer bowl.
  4. Add egg.
  5. Beat at low speed for 1/2 minute.
  6. Beat 3 minutes at high speed.
  7. By hand, stir in enough of remaining flour to make soft dough.
  8. Place dough in greased bowl, turn once to grease surface.
  9. Cover and let rise until double, 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  10. Turn onto floured surface, shape into balls or make crescent size or whatever you want.
  11. Place on grease pan, let rise until double, about 30 to 45 minutes.
  12. Bake at 325u0b0 for 15 minutes.
  13. Do not brown unless you are going to eat them then. Remove from pan, cool.
  14. Wrap in foil or put in bags and freeze. Before serving, thaw 10 to 15 minutes.
  15. Bake at 450u0b0 until golden brown, 5 to 10 minutes.
  16. Makes 24 rolls.
