Holiday Fruit Bars Recipe

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Cream shortening, sugar, egg till fluffy.
  3. Stir in rind and juice.
  4. Measure flour by dip, level, pour method or possibly by sifting.
  5. Blend dry ingredients, stir into creamed mix.
  6. Fold in fruit and nuts.
  7. Pat dough in greased pan 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch.
  8. Bake 15 to 18 min.
  9. Cut into bars.
  10. Makes about 3 dozen.
