Maple-Pecan Muffins

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease 12 medium muffin cups or line with paper liners; set aside.
  2. Combine cereal, flour and baking powder in large bowl.
  3. Beat egg, milk, applesauce, syrup and butter in medium bowl with wire whisk until well blended.
  4. Add to flour mixture; stir just until moistened.
  5. Spoon evenly into prepared muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.
  6. Sprinkle with pecans.
  7. Bake 20 min.
  8. or until muffins are golden brown and wooden toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean.
  9. Cool 5 min.
  10. before removing from pan.
  11. Serve warm.
