Aunt Peggy's Smoky Cheese Bacon Loaves

  1. In a medium skillet, melt 1/4 cup butter over medium heat.
  2. Add onion, and cook for 8-10 minutes or until onion is tender.
  3. Increase heat to med-high, and cook, stirring constantly, for 4-5 minutes or until onion is lightly browned.
  4. Remove from heat, and cool slightly.
  5. Preheat oven to 350.
  6. Spray 6 ( 6x3 inch) miniature loaf pans with nonstick baking spray with flour.
  7. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  8. Add cheeses, stirring to combine.
  9. In a medium bowl, combine milk, sour cream, 1/2 cup melted butter, and eggs.
  10. Add to flour mixture, stirring until dry ingredients are combined.
  11. Stir in bacon and caramelized onions.
  12. Spoon batter evenly into prepared pans, and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a pick comes out clean.
  13. Let cool in pans for 10 minutes.
  14. Remove from pans, and cool completely on wire racks.
