Tomato Toast
- 1 slice Sliced bread
- 1 small Tomato
- 1 enough to cover the surface of the bread Mayonnaise
- 1/2 tbsp Ponzu
- 1/2 to 1 tablespoon Grated cheese (Refer to Step 4 if you don't have it)
- Spread the mayonnaise on the bread.
- Pour the ponzu in a small bowl, dip each piece of cut tomato, then lay on the bread.
- Mix the grated cheese with the remaining ponzu, which should have some tomato juice, and mix.
- Spread on the tomato, especially around the edges.
- Toast the bread.
- If you use cherry tomatoes, a lot of juice might come out, but it will be fine.
- Just pour it all on the toast.
- If using halved tomatoes, lay on the bread cut side up.
- If you don't have grated cheese, make a mock version with sliced cheese
- If the tomatoes are too sweet, sprinkle with a bit of salt while eating.
- Savor that sweetness with each mouthful.
- A version with shiitake mushrooms.
