Chocolate-Pecan Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Coat two 9-inch round cake pans with cooking spray.
  3. Prepare cake mix according to package directions; stir in 1/2 cup chocolate chips and 1/2 cup chopped pecans.
  4. Divide batter between pans; sprinkle with remaining chips.
  5. Bake 30 minutes on until toothpick inserted into centers comes out clean.
  6. Cool 10 minutes.
  7. Remove from pans; cool completely on wire racks.
  8. Combine 1 cup frosting, grated chocolate, and remaining chopped pecans.
  9. Place 1 cake layer on serving plate; spread with frosting mixture.
  10. Top with remaining cake layer; spread top and sides with remaining frosting.
  11. Garnish with pecan halves.
