Chocolate Branches
- 1 pkg. frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 6 oz. semisweet chocolate chips, very finely chopped
- 4 tbsp. hazelnuts, finely chopped
- nuts of your choice
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- On a well floured surface, place one sheet of pastry dough and roll into a 12x12-inch square.
- Spread half of the chocolate and nuts evenly over half of the dough.
- Fold over dough and roll our into a 7x14-inch rectangle.
- Cut pastry into 1/2-inch strips.
- Holding one end of each strip, twist the dough 4 or 5 times.
- Place dough strips on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until pastry is puffed and brown.
- Repeat with second sheet of dough.
- Let cool and dust with cocoa powder or confectioners' sugar.
