New England Baked Beans

  1. Cover beans with water and soak overnight.
  2. Drain and discard water.
  3. Cover with water again and boil for 10 minutes.
  4. Drain and discard water.
  5. Add beans to slow cooker.
  6. Add 1 cup water.
  7. Cut ham in cubes and add to slow cooker.
  8. Add onion.
  9. Combine brown sugar, maple syrup, salt, ground mustard and water.
  10. Add to slow cooker and mix well.
  11. Cover and cook on low for 10-12 hours.
  12. Stir in ketchup and mustard.
  13. Remove from slow cooker and allow to cool.
  14. Place in freezer bag.
  15. Label and freeze.
  16. To serve: thaw.
  17. Heat until hot and bubbly.
