Glogg
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 20 whole cloves
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup raisins
- 23 cup slivered almonds
- 14 cup sugar
- 12 gallon red wine
- 750 ml port wine
- 1 cup light rum
- 1 cup aquavit
- orange slice, for garnish
- In a small saucepan, combine cinnamon sticks, cloves, and water.
- Cover.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat.
- Simmer about 30 minutes.
- Strain.
- Discard spices.
- In a 4-quart pan, combine spiced water with remaining ingredients, except orange slices.
- Heat over medium-low heat.
- DON'T boil.
- Serve in a punch bowl or from copper stock pot.
- Garnish top of punch with slices.
