Cinnamon Apple Salad

  1. Combine Red Hots and water in saucepan and boil until candies melt.
  2. Pour hot mixture over gelatin in mixing bowl.
  3. Stir well to dissolve the gelatin.
  4. Let mixture set until slightly thickened (about the consistency of raw egg whites).
  5. Beat thickened gelatin mixture with electric mixer until foamy.
  6. Add apple mixed with lemon juice, pecans (if using) and marshmallows.
  7. Fold in whipped topping.
  8. Pour into serving bowl, cover and refrigerate until serving time.
  9. This can also be made as a molded salad, if you like.
