Deb Watkins' Caramel Bars
- 1 pkg. (1-1/8 lb.) German chocolate cake mix
- 3/4 cup margarine, softened
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk, divided
- 1 pkg. (6 oz.) chocolate chips
- 1 cup nuts, chopped
- 1 pkg. (14 oz.) caramels
- Mix together cake mix, margarine and 1/3 cup of the evaporated milk.
- Put half of mixture in greased 9x13-inch pan.
- Bake at 350F for 6 minutes.
- Sprinkle with chips and nuts.
- Melt caramels with other 1/3 cup milk.
- Drizzle caramel over mixture in pan.
- Crumble remaining chocolate mixture over top and bake for 20 minutes more.
