Best Ever Onion Rings Recipe

  1. Slice onions 1/8 inch thick.
  2. Place in bowl with a cover; sprinkle with salt.
  3. Chill, covered 2 to 3 hrs.
  4. Remove from bowl, separate into rings.
  5. Dip each ring in plain flour to act as an adhesive to the batter.
  6. Combine the pancake mix with only sufficient of the club soda to give a batter the consistency of buttermilk.
  7. Dip floured rings in batter.
  8. Fry in about 2 inches of oil at 425 degrees or possibly on medium high on top of stove.
  9. Fry only till brown on both sides.
  10. Drain well on toweling.
  11. Sprinkle with salt.
