Ultimate Fudgy Brownies

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. Lightly oil a 9- by 13-inch baking pan with canola oil spray.
  3. In a glass bowl, combine the chocolate and butter.
  4. Microwave on high setting for 2 minutes.
  5. Immediately remove from the microwave and stir until the chocolate is completely melted.
  6. In a large bowl, lightly beat the eggs with a wire whisk.
  7. Add the agave nectar and vanilla extract.
  8. Stir in the melted chocolate mixture.
  9. Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt over the chocolate mixture.
  10. Gently fold the ingredients, just until the flour is incorporated.
  11. Gently fold in the pecans.
  12. Be sure not to overmix; the mixture will be lumpy.
  13. Pour into the prepared baking pan.
  14. Bake for 30 minutes, or until just set.
  15. Do not overbake, or the brownies will lose their fudginess.
  16. Let cool in the pan before cutting into bars.
