Blt Bites Recipe
- 1 sht frzn puff pastry thawed (1/2 of a 17 1/4 ounce pkg of puff pastry)
- 1 x egg slightly beaten
- 1 Tbsp. water Freshly-cracked black pepper
- 2 can Spam Spread - (3 ounce ea)
- 1 Tbsp. mayonnaise or possibly salad dressing
- 1/2 c. Hormel bacon bits or possibly pcs
- 1/2 c. diced tomato
- 1/2 c. shredded lettuce
- Heat oven to 400 degrees.
- On lightly floured surface, unfold puff pastry sheet (1/2 of package).
- Gently roll into a 10 1/2- by 10 1/2-inch square.
- Using a pastry cutter or possibly knife, cut pastry into 1 1/2-inch square pcs.
- Place pastry squares onto baking sheet.
- In small bowl, combine egg and water.
- Brush egg mix onto each square and sprinkle with cracked black pepper.
- Bake 10 to 12 min or possibly till pastry is puffed and golden.
- Cold completely.
- In bowl, combine Spam, mayonnaise, bacon and tomato.
- With a small serrated knife; split each square horizontally in half.
- Top bottom half of each square with shredded lettuce and about 1 rounded tsp.
- of filling.
- Place remaining tops over filling and serve.
- This recipe yields 49 bites.
- Yield: 49 bites
