Cheese-Topped Tuna Burgers
- 2 (6-ounce) cans tuna in water, drained
- 2 cups (36 to 40) crushed buttery round crackers
- 1 rib (1/2 cup) celery, finely chopped
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 Land O Lakes Egg
- 2 tablespoons Land O Lakes Butter
- 6 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes Deli American
- 6 hamburger buns, toasted
- Lettuce leaves, if desired
- Tomato slices, if desired
- Combine tuna, 1 cup cracker crumbs, celery, mayonnaise, onion powder and egg in bowl.
- Shape mixture into six (4-inch) patties.
- Place remaining cracker crumbs into pie pan or shallow bowl.
- Lightly press both sides of tuna patties into cracker crumbs.
- Melt butter in 12-inch skillet until sizzling.
- Cook tuna patties over medium-high heat, carefully turning once, 6-8 minutes or until golden brown.
- Top each with 1 slice cheese.
- Serve on hamburger bun with lettuce and tomato, if desired.
