Chinese Crispy Wontons
- 3/4 lb. ground pork
- 8 canned water chestnuts finely chopped
- 1/4 cup green onions chopped
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. grated fresh ginger
- 1 16 oz. package of wonton skins
- Vegetable oil
- Sweet and sour sauce (or Tomato, ketchup & hot mustard)
- Combine pork, water chestnuts, green onions, soy sauce, corn starch, salt and ginger in a medium bowl.
- Mix well.
- Place 1/2 tsp. of pork mixture in the center of each wonton skin.
- Fold wonton skin over filling and form a triangle.
- Turn top of triangle down to meet fold.
- Turn over moisten 1 corner with water.
- Overlap opposite corner over moistened corner.
- Press together firmly.
- Heat oil in wok or large sauce pan to 375F. Deep fry wontons 3-4 at a time for 2-3 minutes or until brown and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Serve with spicy mustard or sweet & sour sauce.
