Prawns in Shell With Chili Sauce
- 1 12 lbs prawns, shell on, 16 to 20 count, wash, drain and pat dry
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes, dried
- 12 cup peanut oil
- 1 cup chili sauce, Heinz
- 3 stalks green onions, minced
- Lightly salt the dry prawns and set aside for 15 minutes before using.
- Heat a wok over a high heat.
- Add the oil and when the oil is smoking add chili pod and ginger to season the oil.
- Remove the chili pod and ginger piece.
- Add shrimp and when it turns pink in color add in the sauce and bring to a boil.
- Pour into serving dishes and top with green onions.
- Serve warm or cold.
