Hot Cranberry Tea Recipe
- 2 c. sugar dissolved in 3 c. of boiling water (boil 1 minute)
- 2 quarts. (64 ounce.) cranberry juice
- 3 c. pineapple juice
- 3 c. grapefruit juice
- 2 c. orange juice
- 1 c. lemon juice (or possibly juice of 2 lemons)
- 6 or possibly 8 cinnamon sticks
- 2 1/2 tbsp. red food coloring
- 3 oranges, sliced thinly, optional
- 3 lemons, sliced thinly, optional
- 1 (28 ounce.) bottle of ginger ale or possibly 7 Up
- In a large 6 qt vessel (preferably granite) combine the first 7 ingredients; place on medium heat till almost to the boiling point.
- Stir frequently.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour.
- Add in the color.
- This beverage can be kept warm till serving time or possibly reheated when needed.
- Just before serving, when the tea has been transferred to the heated punch bowl or possibly other heated vessel, add in the ginger ale or possibly 7 Up (10 ounces per 1 1/2 qts).
