Grilled California Turkey Bistro Sandwich
- 1 ripe avocado, peeled, seeded
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 2 tablespoons garlic-flavored mayonnaise or mayonnaise
- 8 (about 5x4 inch) slices (1/2-inch thick) Vienna or Tuscan bread
- 2 tablespoons Land O Lakes Butter, softened
- 8 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes Deli American or Muenster Cheese
- 8 ounces thinly sliced deli peppered turkey
- 8 slices crisply cooked bacon
- Mash avocado in small bowl with fork; stir in onion and garlic mayonnaise; set aside.
- To assemble sandwiches, spread 1 side of each bread slice with 3/4 teaspoon softened butter.
- Evenly spread avocado mixture over 4 bread slices, buttered-side down.
- Top each with 1 slice cheese, 1/4 turkey, 2 slices bacon, 1 slice cheese and 1 slice bread, buttered-side up.
- Heat 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place 2 sandwiches into skillet.
- Cook, turning once, 4-6 minutes or until sandwiches are golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Keep warm; repeat with remaining sandwiches.
- Cut each sandwich in half; serve immediately.
