Comforting Beef Stew
- 2 lbs beef stew meat
- 12 cup Italian dressing
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 (2 1/2 ounce) envelope onion soup mix
- 12 cup red wine
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
- 12 teaspoon pepper
- beef broth
- 2 cups water
- 6 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
- 5 carrots, diced
- 1 medium onion
- celery
- peas
- green beans
- corn
- 14 cup flour (mixed with water to make a paste for thickening)
- add italian dressing and worcestshire sauce to pan and brown meat in mixture.
- do not drain.
- add meat to crockpot or stock pot.
- add beef broth, red wine, water and diced tomatoes.
- add soup mix, garlic,bay leaf, italian seasoning.
- stir, then add vegetables.
- cook in crock pot for 6 to 8 hours or stock pot for 2 to 3 hours or until beef is tender.
- add flour paste and cook until thickened.
