Kickin Cowboy Sloppy Joes
- 2 pounds Ground Sirloin
- 4 Tablespoons Vegetable Shortening
- 2 cups Yellow Onion, Finely Diced
- 2 cups Green Bell Pepper, Finely Diced
- 2 whole Jalapenos, Seeded And Finely Chopped
- 2 Tablespoons Yellow Mustard
- 2 Tablespoons Table Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons White Vinegar
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 Tablespoon Cayenne Pepper
- 2 teaspoons Chili Powder
- 1- 1/2 cup Ketchup
- Brown meat and vegetables in a skillet with the shortening.
- Drain off liquid.
- In a small bowl, combine mustard, sugar, vinegar, salt, peppers, chili powder and ketchup.
- Mix until well blended.
- Pour sauce over meat mixture and combine until everything is coated.
- Let simmer for 2 hours.
- Serve on onion rolls with assorted condiments like pickle relish, spicy mustard, cheese and pickled jalapenos.
