Prawn Roast
- 1 lb shrimp
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 14 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 3 medium red onions, thinly sliced
- 2 green chilies
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tomatoes, sliced
- 4 curry leaves
- 14 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Combine the ingredients for marinating.
- Marinate the prawns in this mixture for half an hour.
- Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the prawns until just cooked through.
- Remove from pan, reserving remaining oil in the pan.
- Saute the onions and green chillies in the same oil used for frying prawns until the color of the vegetables changes.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and saute again till the fresh smell of the paste goes away.
- Add all the powders and fry well.
- Add tomato and saute till tomatoes cooked.
- Add the fried prawns and salt as desired.
- Cover and let it simmer for 3 minutes.
- Sprinkle garam masala and add curry leaves.
- Mix and serve with rice or chappathi.
