Brazil Nut Butterscotch Brownie Recipe
- 1/4 c. Shortening
- 1 c. Packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 x Egg
- 3/4 c. All-purpose flour*
- 3/4 c. Finely minced Brazil nuts
- 1 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- *If using self-rising flour omit baking pwdr and salt.
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease square pan, 8 X 8 X 2 inches.
- Heat shortening in 1-1/2-qt saucepan over low heat till melted; remove from heat.
- Fold in brown sugar, vanilla and egg.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Spread in pan.
- Bake 25 min.
- Cut into 2-inch squares while hot.
- 16 BROWNIES; 150 CALORIES PER BROWNIE.
