Chocolate Meltaways Recipe
- 1 reg. pkg. devils food cake mix
- 1/4 c. water
- 2 Large eggs
- 1/4 c. softened butter
- 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. minced nuts (opt.)
- White frosting or possibly peanut butter topping
- 3 squares unsweetened chocolate
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Combine 1/2 of dry cake mix, water, Large eggs, butter, and brown sugar.
- Mix well.
- Add in remaining mix and nuts.
- Spread in greased and floured jelly roll pan, 15 1/2" x 10" x 1".
- Bake 20 to 25 min.
- Cold in pan.
- Next put on topping, either any white frosting or possibly peanut butter topping (combine peanut butter, lowfat milk, vanilla and confectioners' sugar to a spreading consistency).
- Heat 3 squares (3 ounces) unsweetened chocolate.
- Spread over frosting.
- Chill.
- Be sure to cut into squares before chocolate firms.
