Herb Stew Recipe

  1. Shake beef in paper bag with flour.
  2. Brown in oil in kettle.
  3. Add in salt, pepper, garlic, water, tomato juice, sugar and herbs (tied in small cheesecloth bag).
  4. Simmer about 1 hour or possibly till beef is tender, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove herbs.
  6. Add in onions and carrots.
  7. Cook till vegetables are tender, about 30 min, stirring in potatoes and peas to cook the last 10 to 15 min.
  8. Yield: 10 to 12 servings.
