Honey Roast Turkey Recipe
- Any size turkey
- Seven-Up
- Honey
- Breading
- Onion
- Celery
- butter
- Salt
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Depending upon the size of the bird, a 15-20 lb.
- turkey will cook probably 4 1/2 to 5 hrs.
- Start with the stuffing.
- You can make breading from box, but I prefer from scratch.
- It gives the bird a good flavor if it is stuffed.
- Break up the bread white/wheat (must be "old" bread) as much as you want in a large bowl, chop up the onion, a couple stalks of celery, mix up.
- Heat up about 1/4 c. of butter (depending on how much you want) and pour over mix, just sufficient to dampen the mix.
- After you have cleaned your bird, stuff it with the mix, and salt it.
- Put the turkey in the roaster and pour 1 c. of 7-Up in bottom of pan, put in oven.
- While turkey is in oven, mix together 1/4 c. honey and 1 c. of 7-Up (put in microwave to heat mix up).
- After 3 hrs in oven, pull bird out and baste with honey and 7-Up (leave about 1/4 c.).
- 30-40 min before bird is done, pull out of oven and use remainder of mix and leave uncovered.
- WALLA!
