Apple Pie With Crumbled Topping
- 1 frozen deep dish pie crust
- 3 Jonagold apples (cored, peeled and sliced into 1/4" wedges)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ap flour
- 1 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cup ap flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter (melted and cooled)
- Preheat oven to 425A
- Combine all Filling ingredients & let sit for 10 minutes
- Whisk together all dry ingredients of Topping; pour butter over mixture & stir until blended
- Pour apple mixture into pie crust (may be heaping) & cover with crumble topping
- Bake for 20 minutes; reduce heat to 375A and bake for 40 more minutes (cover with foil loosely halfway through to prevent topping from burning)
- Let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving
