Coney Dogs
- 1 can (14-1/2 oz.) tomatoes, undrained
- 1 md. green pepper, chopped
- 1 md. onion, quartered
- 1 can (4-1/2 oz.) diced green chili peppers, drained
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 2 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. ground cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- Frankfurters
- Buns
- Chopped onion
- Mustard
- In a food processor or blender, combine the tomatoes, green pepper, onion, green chili peppers, chili powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, cumin and red pepper.
- Cover and process until nearly smooth.
- Transfer to a large sauce pan.
- Bring sauce to boiling.
- Reduce heat.
- Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Cool.
- Serve desired amount over cooked frankfurters and warmed buns.
- Top with mustard and chopped onion.
