JELL-O Dive-on-In Cake

  1. Prepare cake batter and bake in 13x9-inch pan as directed on package.
  2. Cool completely.
  3. Remove cake from pan; place on platter.
  4. Use serrated knife to cut and scoop out a shallow rectangle from centre of cake, leaving a 2-inch border on all sides and thin layer of cake on bottom.
  5. Reserve removed cake for snacking or other use.
  6. Add boiling water to jelly powders in large bowl; stir 2 min.
  7. until completely dissolved.
  8. Add ice; stir until jelly begins to thicken.
  9. Remove any unmelted ice.
  10. Pour jelly into centre of cake.
  11. Refrigerate 4 hours or until jelly is firm.
  12. Frost borders of cake with Cool Whip.
  13. Decorate with remaining ingredients as desired to resemble a swimming pool.
  14. Keep refrigerated.
