Peter's Irish Whisky Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease 1 bundt or tube pan.
  2. Blend all the cake ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Beat until well blended.
  4. Pour batter into pan.
  5. Bake for 1 hour.
  6. Set on wire rack to cool.
  7. When cool, glaze with the following mixture.
  8. Whisky Glaze: Melt butter in saucepan.
  9. Stir in sugar and water.
  10. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  11. Remove from heat and stir in the second measure of Irish whisky.
  12. Pour over unmolded cake.
