Sugar Waffles with Berries and Whipped Cream

  1. Heat waffle iron.
  2. Prepare waffle mix for 2 large waffles, 4 quarters each.
  3. Add sugar to a large food storage bag and crush cubes with a small heavy-bottomed skillet or meat mallet.
  4. Add crushed cubes to prepared batter.
  5. Brush iron with melted butter.
  6. Add waffle mix and cook to waffle iron directions.
  7. Serve 1/2 a large waffle or 2 sections from your iron per person, topping with sliced berries and a rosette of whipped cream.
