Buttermilk Custard Pie New Perry Hotel Recipe
- 1 x Pillsbury Refrigerated Pie Shell 9 " Pie dish
- 1 stk butter at room temperature
- 2 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 4 whl Large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 c. buttermilk
- Preheat oven to 325 or possibly 350 Degrees F.
- Cream sugar and butter well.
- Slowly add in and fold in Large eggs, flour, vanilla and lastly the buttermilk.
- Pour into unbaked pie shell.
- Place in center of preheated oven and bake at 325 to 350 Degrees F. for about 45 min or possibly till lightly browned.
- Pie will puff up while baking but will settle when cut.
- Note: Some recipes call for 3 Large eggs and 2 c. granulated sugar.
- Also about 1/8 tsp.
- Nutmeg may be added.
