Baby Food Storing
- 1 each ice cube tray
- 1 small roll of freezer bags
- 1 each permanent pen
- Cook food until tender.
- Mash with a fork or blender.
- For extra smoothness pass through a sieve pressing with the back of a spoon.
- Leave to go cold
- Spoon about half a tablespoon of puree into each of the sections of the ice cube tray.
- Freeze for at least 3 hours
- Label the date and contents onto the freezer bags before adding the cubes of frozen puree.
- Knot and place back into the freezer
- Keep the food simple.
- Don't add any seasoning.
- Use boiled water or baby milk (breast or formula) if the puree is too thick
- Put one type of food into each bag so when deciding on what to feed baby you can mix and match something different each meal time
- Good foods to start baby off on are sweet potato, parsnip, carrot, squash, apple, pear.
- As they get older give them more cubes or fill ice cube tray more.
- Use a wider range of ingredients and increase the amount of lumps
