Baby Food Storing

  1. Cook food until tender.
  2. Mash with a fork or blender.
  3. For extra smoothness pass through a sieve pressing with the back of a spoon.
  4. Leave to go cold
  5. Spoon about half a tablespoon of puree into each of the sections of the ice cube tray.
  6. Freeze for at least 3 hours
  7. Label the date and contents onto the freezer bags before adding the cubes of frozen puree.
  8. Knot and place back into the freezer
  9. Keep the food simple.
  10. Don't add any seasoning.
  11. Use boiled water or baby milk (breast or formula) if the puree is too thick
  12. Put one type of food into each bag so when deciding on what to feed baby you can mix and match something different each meal time
  13. Good foods to start baby off on are sweet potato, parsnip, carrot, squash, apple, pear.
  14. As they get older give them more cubes or fill ice cube tray more.
  15. Use a wider range of ingredients and increase the amount of lumps
