Beulah's Beef Stew Recipe

  1. Use 5 qt Dutch oven.
  2. Trim and cut beef into 1 inch chunks.
  3. Coat in flour and brown in small pcs of fat trimmed from meat.
  4. Add in cut-up onion; brown 5 min longer.
  5. Add in warm water and salt.
  6. Cover pot and simmer 1 1/2 hrs.
  7. Add in cut-up vegetables to stew pot; carrots, celery, potatoes, string beans.
  8. Add in more water, if necessary, for extra gravy.
  9. Cook for 25 min longer or possibly till vegetables are done.Season with pepper.
  10. Serves 6.
