Strawberry Daifuku Made with Cut Mochi

  1. Wash the strawberries and remove stems, then wrap with red bean paste.
  2. Put the cut mochi in a flat bowl, and add enough hot water to cover it.
  3. Microwave for about 1 minute at 600 W.
  4. Keep 2 ~ 3 teaspoons of hot water, and drain the rest.
  5. Add the sugar, and mix and knead with a spoon.
  6. If it's not mixing well, microwave for another 20 seconds, and mix some more.
  7. If it needs more water, add some before microwaving.
  8. Divide the mochi into 2 pieces and wrap the red bean paste balls from Step 1.
  9. Roll them into balls while coating with katakuriko.
  10. Divide the mochi into 2 pieces and wrap the red bean paste balls from Step 1.
  11. Roll them into balls while coating with katakuriko.
