Honey Oatmeal Wheat Bread Recipe

  1. Place oatmeal in large mixing bowl.
  2. Pour boiling water over it; let cold till lukewarm.
  3. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 c. water; let stand 5 min.
  4. Add in dissolved yeast to oatmeal mix.
  5. Add in honey and oil, blend.
  6. Combine flour sand salt.
  7. Add in flours to oatmeal mix and mix thoroughly to create a soft dough.
  8. Turn out onto lightly floured surface and knead 5 - 10 min.
  9. Form into loaves and place in greased pans.
  10. Let rise 30 min.
  11. Bake 1 hour in 325 degree oven.
  12. Cold on racks.
  13. For soft crust, brush loaf tops with butter while warm.
  14. Makes 2 or possibly 3 loaves.
