Terrific Beef Stew
- 2 tablespoons flour, all-purpose
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 x black pepper
- 1 1/2 pounds beef chuck 1 inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 can soup, tomato
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup onions chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon basil dried
- 4 medium potatoes pared,cubed
- 4 medium carrots 1 inch pieces
- 1 medium onions quartered
- 1 cup wine burgundy
- Combine flour, salt, pepper.
- Coat meat and brown in hot oil in oven proof dish.
- Add soup, water, onion(chopped) and basil.
- Cover and bake in 375 degree F oven 1 hour.
- Add vegetables and wine and cook, covered another hour or til done.
- Veggies should be soft when pierced with fork.
- Can serve over noodles or rice.
