Linda's Chocolate Popcorn

  1. Preheat oven to 250F.
  2. Place popped popcorn in a large roasting pan.
  3. Set aside.
  4. In a saucepan, over medium heat, cook sugar, corn syrup and butter, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips and vanilla.
  7. Stir until melted.
  8. Pour over popcorn, and mix together well.
  9. Put in oven and bake for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  10. If adding nuts, do so now, and mix into mixture with a large spoon.
  11. Spoon onto waxed paper to cool, stir to separate.
  12. Store in a large plastic container or put into baggies.
