Flower-decorated Sushi For Hinamatsuri (Girls' Day)
- 2 sheets Nori for sushi rolls
- 240 grams Sushi rice
- 1 Denbu - sweet pink-colored semidried fish flakes
- 1 Salmon flakes (readymade)
- 1 Cheesy kamaboko
- Cut nori sheets as follows: one half, five sixths, and the rest in two thin strips.
- Prepare 120 gram of sushi rice by topping with denbu and salmon flakes.
- Spread over nori cut in sixth, leaving about 20% uncovered, and roll up.
- Repeat Step 2 five times and make five rolls.
- Place cheesy kamaboko in center and place five rolls around it to make a flower.
- Combine everything with thin nori strips.
- Spread sushi rice over the halved nori sheet.
- Place the combined roll from Step 4 and roll up.
- They look like this when you slice them in half.
- You could also make character sushi rolls (here, Anpanman) or even make them square.
