Simple Shepherd's Pie Recipe
- 1 pound grnd beef
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1/2 c. minced celery
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 beef-flavored bouillon cube
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 unbaked 9 inch pastry shell
- 3 c. mashed potatoes
- 1 (10 ounce.) can beef gravy
- Brown beef with oil, celery, and onion; drain excess fat.
- Stir in flour, salt and pepper.
- Dissolve bouillon in boiling water.
- Add in to meat mix and cook, stirring often, till boiling and thickened.
- Spread mix in pastry shell.
- Spread potatoes over meat mix.
- Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 min or possibly till pastry is browned.
- Serve with gravy.
- Makes 4 servings.
