Vegetable and Cheese Chowder

  1. Melt butter in 3-qt.
  2. saucepan on medium heat.
  3. Add green peppers, carrots, potatoes and onions; cook 20 min.
  4. or until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add flour; cook and stir 1 min.
  6. Gradually add broth, stirring until well blended after each addition.
  7. Bring to boil, stirring constantly.
  8. Reduce heat to medium.
  9. Add cheese; stir until completely melted.
  10. Gradually add milk, stirring until well blended after each addition.
  11. Stir in peas.
  12. Cook until heated through, stirring occasionally.
  13. Season with the white pepper.
